About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced NCLEX Specialist to join our team at West Coast University. As a key member of our student-centered community, you will play a vital role in guiding nursing students to achieve academic success and prepare them for a career in healthcare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Support: Provide individualized support to students through workshops, remediation sessions, group tutorials, and one-on-one meetings to improve course performance and enhance remediation.
  • ATI Integration: Ensure seamless integration of ATI tools and resources in all student meetings to enhance remediation and concept understanding.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with faculty to identify course weaknesses and develop innovative initiatives to address them, ensuring students receive the best possible education.
  • Student Success: Identify students at risk for persistence issues and develop action plans to address their needs, ensuring students stay on track to achieve their academic goals.
  • Data Analysis: Track student progress through data tracking platforms and develop interventions to address identified challenges to core course success and persistence.
  • Evaluation and Improvement: Assess the effectiveness of course-specific persistence strategies and progress in meeting mutually established objectives with students, making data-driven decisions to improve student outcomes.
  • Professional Development: Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in student learning and persistence, enhancing your skills and knowledge to support student success.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment, communicating effectively with students, faculty, and staff to achieve shared goals.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Master's degree in nursing, education, or administration required; professional nurse licensure required; minimum of two years as a Registered Nurse providing direct patient care or equivalent and/or education.
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and other MS office products as needed; working with online learning management systems to further engage the student learning process.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Knowledge: Compliance with state, federal, and local laws/regulations relating to programs, governmental compliance, and other regulatory standards such as state Board of Healthcare.
