Role Purpose:

The Project Engineer will be responsible for the planning, execution, and management of capital improvement initiatives related to water infrastructure. This includes upgrades to treatment facilities, pump stations, storage solutions, and pipeline systems. The successful candidate will lead projects aimed at enhancing water and wastewater systems, collaborating closely with internal teams to ensure successful project outcomes. This role will focus on overseeing above-ground capital projects, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality capital improvement projects, including the development of project plans and schedules.
  • Manage the design and construction phases of multiple projects, ensuring adherence to engineering guidelines.
  • Incorporate corporate safety and environmental standards into all project specifications.
  • Monitor project expenditures and align them with budgetary constraints.
  • Coordinate environmental and governmental permitting processes.
  • Oversee construction management to ensure timely project completion and compliance with standards.
  • Enhance project delivery efficiency through the analysis of performance metrics.
  • Engage in master planning for existing and new water and wastewater systems.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports and analyses for regulatory bodies and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of engineering design standards and processes.
  • Provide technical support and expertise in engineering and operational matters.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing design or construction projects.
  • Experience in water/wastewater project management is essential.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong project management capabilities, including planning and execution.
  • In-depth knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with alternative project delivery methods and contracting approaches.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Financial acumen, including budget management and risk assessment.
Certifications:
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Professional Engineer License (PE) in relevant states is preferred.
