Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join our team. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will be responsible for translating business requirements into technical data specifications, manipulating large datasets, and supporting various data initiatives for our clients. You will work directly with our clients' business partners and data engineering and analytics teams to understand the business meaning of data and provide analysis and requirements to ensure that data design is fully understood and data service initiatives are in line with intended design and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leverage data tools and capabilities to deliver superior service to our clients' customers and advance our Data & Analytics Road Map.
  • Conduct discovery and end-to-end data analysis to understand customer needs and help develop plans and activities to improve data quality.
  • Elicit, analyze, and interpret business and data requirements to develop complete data product solutions, including review of data models, ETL, business rules, data management, governance, lineage, metadata, and reporting elements.
  • Manipulate large data sets using SQL to understand patterns in the data and perform data profiling using various tools to learn the shape of the data and inform data quality checks and/or curation rules.
  • Partner with customers to interpret data and remediate issues when required.
  • Collaborate with data owners and stewards to implement, maintain, and enhance data governance, quality, security, and privacy requirements and related policies and standards.
  • Prepare technical specifications for data ingestion and transformation rules and partner with data architects to build data models for efficient consumption of data.
  • Support the development of standards and best practices within the Data Analysis team, including documentation templates and agile development methodologies.
Requirements
  • University or college degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or related field of study.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience gathering and documenting requirements as well as technical specifications for data solutions.
  • Advanced SQL and Python scripting skills.
  • Experience with AWS platform and tools associated with analytics and data (S3, Redshift, Glue, DBbeaver).
  • Understanding of Snowflake platform, a plus.
  • Integration, implementation, and practice with Airflow, Airbyte, dbtCloud, Monte Carlo, and Atlan preferred.
  • Data governance and metadata management experience (standards, format, definition, structure, tagging, transmission, manipulation, use, and management of data).
