Laboratory Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Manager to join our team at Memorial Healthcare System. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the department, ensuring alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement specific departmental goals, plans, and regulatory standards to support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
- Manage staff relations, including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict resolution.
- Oversee scheduling, recruitment, payroll, and student engagements.
- Develop training materials and competency assessment tools used by the department.
- Monitor departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, and vendor relations.
- Provide input to the budget and monitor expenses for the department.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of current instrumentation, procedural, regulatory, and billing activity that applies to the department.
- Perform method validations and ongoing method assessments.
- Perform accurate and appropriate testing of specimens received in the laboratory, according to established laboratory protocol and procedures.
- Report test results in a timely manner according to established laboratory protocols.
- Act as the Laboratory Director when necessary.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Clinical Lab Supervisor License (SU LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL).
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively with internal and external customers, communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner, and demonstrate a commitment to quality and patient safety.
