We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Operations Manager to join our team at Memorial Healthcare System. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the laboratory department, ensuring alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee quality assurance activities and the event reporting process, analyzing trends and patterns in data collected.
- Assist in the development of corrective action plans and ensure timely submission of investigative and corrective action reports to laboratory and organizational stakeholders.
- Plan and conduct or coordinate audits of laboratory departments, identifying opportunities for improvement and making recommendations for process optimization.
- Maintain records of quality assurance activities, including audit reports, corrective actions, preventive measures, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with laboratory leaders to ensure accurate completion and timely submission of State, Federal, and regulatory documents.
- Participate on and facilitate cross-functional teams, committees, and workgroups to identify and address opportunities for improvement in quality and patient safety data.
- Coordinate the development of evidence-based, standardized practices to achieve and sustain quality, safety, customer satisfaction, operational, and financial performance excellence.
- Participate in inspections by internal and external sources and serve as a regulatory resource to laboratory leaders.
- Oversee the review and evaluation of training, competency assessment, maintenance, validation, proficiency testing, quality control, and other work records to ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory standards and requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Clinical Lab Supervisor License (SU LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL), Clinical Lab Technologist License (TN LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL).
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience in a laboratory setting.
The Laboratory Operations Manager will work in a fast-paced laboratory environment, requiring advanced knowledge of laboratory procedures and instrumentation. The successful candidate will be able to effectively relate and communicate with internal and external customers, and will have advanced knowledge of laboratory information systems.
