Job Summary

This is a 32-hour per week position, Monday to Friday, within the State of New Mexico Department of Health's Turquoise Lodge Hospital. The Financial Specialist will be responsible for processing financial transactions, reviewing financial documents for accuracy and approvals, and assisting with hospital, maintenance, and food inventory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process financial transactions, including requisitions, purchase orders, payments, and travel expenses.
  • Review financial documents for accuracy and approvals, ensuring compliance with budget and fiscal regulations.
  • Assist with hospital, maintenance, and food inventory, including tracking and monitoring budgets, verifying expenditures, and ensuring accurate account codes and fiscal year federal spend down.
  • Utilize SHARE Financial and Microsoft Excel to track and monitor budgets, verify expenditures, and generate financial and accounting reports.
  • Collaborate with medical, clinical, administrative, and maintenance teams to ensure the safety of adult patients with chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders while in treatment.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or Equivalency and one (1) year experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and/or finance.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and familiarity with SHARE Financial Reporting.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Working Conditions

This position is performed primarily in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer use. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
