Contract Duration: The initial engagement will last for 12 months, with possibilities for extension or transition to a permanent role.
Work Schedule: Candidates will work on-site for three weeks followed by one week of remote work, with a guaranteed 40 hours per week.
Compensation Package: Competitive hourly rate, overtime paid at time and a half, daily per diem up to $70 (receipts required), $60 monthly cell phone allowance, and a company laptop provided. Candidates will be responsible for booking their own travel arrangements, which will be reimbursed weekly.
Qualifications: Candidates should possess a solid background in General Construction, with experience in electrical and/or mechanical fields.
Our client, a leader in the design and construction of mission-critical facilities, is currently managing several large contracts and has more projects in the pipeline. While there is a hiring freeze on full-time positions, the need for contractors to support ongoing projects is critical. These contractors may work on various projects for several years, with potential opportunities for permanent employment once the hiring freeze is lifted.
Role Overview: The Site Superintendent plays a crucial role within the project team, working closely with the Project Manager and Project Engineer. The Superintendent is responsible for the daily management of the project, ensuring compliance with all operational standards in a mission-critical construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand and manage the project contract, schedule, and overall scope.
- Maintain and oversee the project schedule.
- Review subcontractor agreements and vendor purchase orders.
- Verify work completion against invoices from subcontractors and vendors.
- Secure necessary permits and lien releases.
- Collaborate with the Project Scheduler to develop progress schedules.
- Prepare and distribute daily field reports.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and surveying as required.
- Organize regular construction meetings and prepare agendas.
- Enforce safety, security, and quality standards on-site.
- Develop and maintain a Site Utilization plan.
- Assist the Project Manager in identifying scope gaps and duplication in contracts.
- Conduct performance evaluations for subcontractors and vendors.
- Provide safety training and ensure compliance on-site.
In addition to the above responsibilities, the Superintendent will also be tasked with:
- Monitoring the performance of subcontractors and ensuring adequate workforce levels.
- Preparing daily reports and maintaining comprehensive documentation.
- Participating in scope reviews to ensure all project components are accounted for.
- Directing field staff and ensuring adherence to project requirements.
This role is essential for ensuring the successful execution of construction projects, maintaining high standards of quality and safety throughout the process.
