Position Overview

The primary focus of this role is to engage in the solicitation and origination of mortgage and real estate-related loan products offered by HomeTrust Bank. The individual in this position will guide borrowers to select a loan product that best fits their financial situation, evaluate options tailored to the customer's requirements, and provide informed recommendations. This role involves analyzing the borrower's financial profile, addressing any credit issues, and pre-qualifying potential borrowers.

Core Responsibilities
  • Facilitates the origination of mortgage loans.
  • Conducts interviews with clients and completes comprehensive loan applications.
  • Prequalifies applicants following standard underwriting protocols.
  • Advises clients on the home purchasing and financing journey.
  • Builds and manages a personal loan pipeline.
  • Collaborates with Loan Processors to ensure smooth underwriting and processing of loans.
  • Responds to inquiries via phone and written communication regarding ongoing loans and bank offerings.
  • Promotes additional financial products and services as suitable.
  • Delivers necessary disclosures to borrowers, including Truth in Lending and Good Faith Estimates.
Qualifications

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
Experience:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a retail loan originator, processor, sales assistant, or in a similar role with a proven sales history.
  • Proficient computer skills are essential.
  • Must be bondable and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply bank loan policies and procedures to enhance customer interactions.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with customers, colleagues, and the public in a constructive manner.
  • Capability to listen attentively and relay detailed information accurately and promptly.
  • Ability to operate independently within the guidelines and limitations of bank policy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred:
  • A college degree in a relevant field is advantageous.
