Position Overview:
The Sanitation Services Specialist is tasked with ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of designated areas, including resident rooms, communal spaces, laundry facilities, and staff work areas within the nursing facility.
Compensation: $16.90 per hour based on experience.
Work Schedule: Flexible start times available, with potential shifts including 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, or 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Weekend rotation is included.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster and maintain effective communication with all team members and residents.
- Uphold a positive representation of the organization within the community, aligning with our mission and values.
- Be available for on-call duties as required.
- Execute various cleaning tasks in assigned areas, including disinfecting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and managing waste disposal.
- Cross-train to assist in all areas of the facility.
- Perform periodic deep cleaning tasks such as wall washing and cleaning of draperies.
- Respond to and clean up unexpected spills and accidents.
- Utilize floor-cleaning equipment and tools effectively.
- Be knowledgeable about Material Safety Data Sheets for all cleaning areas.
- Understand and adhere to safety codes and protocols.
- Familiarize with all cleaning agents and their appropriate usage.
- Employ personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary, especially when handling biohazard materials.
- Comply with resident rights agreements and report any discrepancies immediately.
- Perform only those tasks for which training has been received and operate equipment only with proper instruction.
- Maintain composure when interacting with challenging residents and their families.
- Exhibit reliable attendance and adhere to scheduled breaks.
- Collaborate effectively with all team members.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents and staff.
- Commitment to delivering quality services and outcomes.
- Ability to relate well to diverse individuals.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Demonstrate independent judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Adaptability to changing situations.
- Ability to follow instructions and organize tasks efficiently.
- Willingness to work in environments with frequent interruptions.
- Comfortable with frequent exposure to cleaning agents and materials.
