Community & Transportation Planner

Northwest Regional Planning Commission is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Community & Transportation Planner to join our team. As a key member of our planning team, you will be responsible for conducting research, data collection, and analysis to inform planning decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and data analysis to inform planning decisions
  • Prepare and present updates and amendments to county and local government plans
  • Prepare grants, proposals, and reports, and administer grant/contract requirements
  • Provide assistance to counties, cities, villages, towns, and tribal nations on planning activities
  • Work on rural and metropolitan transportation planning activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in urban & regional planning, geography, natural resources, public administration, economics, or journalism
  • Knowledge and experience in contemporary planning principles and methods, research techniques, planning methodology, meeting facilitation, grant writing, and report preparation
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, and ability to work independently and as a team
  • High degree of political acumen and diplomacy
