Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ice Skating Instructor to join our team at the City of Stevens Point, WI. As an Ice Skating Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching ice skating lessons and ice show routines to participants of all ages and skill levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach ice skating lessons and ice show routines to participants of all ages and skill levels.
  • Assist in the planning and organization of ice skating lessons and programs.
  • Monitor proper use of equipment and ensure skaters have properly fitting skates.
  • Provide patrons with the proper techniques needed to succeed in the development of their ice-skating skills.
  • Provide a safe and fun environment that promotes enjoying the sport for exercise and fun.
Requirements
  • Must maintain yearly coach compliance requirements through Learn to Skate USA and the United States Figure Skating Association.
  • Must be able to maintain an effective working relationship with patrons, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Must be able to remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
  • Must be able to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must have previous ice skating instructor experience.
  • Must be able to teach fundamental figure skating and/or hockey skating skills to children ranging in ages 3-18 years old as well as adults.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience teaching ice skating to children and adults.
  • Ability to work weekday evenings and weekends.
