This role is essential in maintaining and ensuring comprehensive and suitable medication management within a collaborative pharmaceutical care framework. The position entails overseeing pharmacy operations to guarantee that patients receive optimal drug therapy, thereby enhancing health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide drug-related information to patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Assist in resolving prior authorizations and insurance billing issues on behalf of patients and providers.
  • Supervise the Patient Advocate team.
  • Conduct drug utilization reviews to ensure appropriateness of therapy.
  • Collaborate with the Specialty Fulfillment team to ensure timely medication delivery and adherence to treatment protocols.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
  • Preferred: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and completion of a PGY1 or PGY2 Pharmacy Practice Residency

Experience:

  • Required: None
  • Preferred: 2 years of experience as a pharmacist, particularly in specialty pharmacy

Licensure:

  • Required: License to practice Pharmacy by the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy
  • Preferred: Multi-state licensure

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in data entry and retrieval of patient information.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with Windows-based applications and specific software relevant to the role.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Job Duties:

  • Conduct patient assessments and provide care.
  • Manage prior authorization and insurance resolution processes.
  • Lead the Patient Advocate team.
  • Engage with patients, providers, and caregivers effectively.
  • Commit to professional development and ongoing education.
  • Participate in special projects and committees as required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to job responsibilities.
  • Foster a collaborative and engaging work environment.
  • Adhere to company policies and accreditation standards in all job functions.
  • Adapt communication and service delivery to meet the needs of specific patient populations.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary.
