About the Role

The Deli Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the cold area of the store, including the deli, meat, produce, and freezer. This involves supervising other managers and stockers, conducting cycle counts and reports, and ensuring all product is stocked and rotated properly.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide exceptional customer service and develop relationships with large customers.
- Supervise and work with the Deli Supervisor and Stocker/s to ensure shelves are stocked and merchandise is rotated.
- Assist in developing schedules, monitor performance, and recommend discipline as needed.
- Train employees in job responsibilities and safe operating procedures, and interview candidates for hire.
- Ensure employees are performing proper inspections to meet HACCP regulations and conduct periodic HACCP audits.
- Review inventory for product rotation on a daily basis to prevent shrinkage and damages.
- Ensure shelf pricing is correct and reflects the most recent pricing and market conditions.
- Supervise and work with the Stocker/s in receiving all deli products and ensure proper paperwork is completed.
- Maintain accurate computer inventory levels by performing physical inventories and making adjustments.
- Maintain refrigerated equipment and ensure maintenance contracts and schedules are followed.
- Supervise the ordering of deli products from vendors to ensure competitive pricing and minimal shrink due to spoilage.

Requirements

- Must pass a drug screen.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be at least 18+ years old.
- Bachelor's Degree or high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years experience in customer service.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, mass, and volume.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
- Computer literacy.
