We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at the Valparaiso Family YMCA. As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our members and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness of all areas of the building and grounds, including mopping, sweeping, cleaning mirrors and windows, disinfecting toilets and sinks, snow removal, and salting of sidewalks.
  • Perform deep cleaning tasks as assigned.
  • Operate motorized equipment used for cleaning.
  • Ensure building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
  • Clean up blood or bodily fluids which could contain blood-borne pathogens.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently.
  • Dependability and a strong work ethic required.
  • Previous work experience in janitorial or other cleaning positions highly preferred.

Work Environment:

This is a part-time opportunity with a flexible schedule, including 4-hour shifts Monday - Friday. Shifts may be 4am-8am or 6pm-10pm.
