The Mortgage Financing Specialist plays a crucial role in cultivating referral relationships from various sources, including financial institutions and community outreach initiatives. This position requires the management of a personal pipeline, ensuring a consistent volume of applications while providing exceptional service throughout the loan process.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new mortgage applications by establishing connections within the community and following up on potential leads.
- Engage in business development activities such as attending networking events, supporting marketing initiatives, and participating in financial education programs.
- Identify and pursue business opportunities with prospective clients, providing expert advice on available financial products and services.
- Conduct comprehensive loan interviews to assess clients' financial needs, identify sales opportunities, and facilitate loan applications.
- Act as the primary contact throughout the loan process, ensuring all necessary documentation is collected and processed efficiently.
- Achieve or surpass established sales targets while promoting additional financial products and maintaining high client satisfaction standards.
- Collaborate with branches and management to review referral outcomes and enhance service delivery.
- Monitor ongoing loans by reviewing the pipeline and coordinating with various stakeholders to expedite processing.
- Participate in regular meetings with management and mortgage vendors to discuss pipeline status and strategies.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of products, services, and competitor offerings to inform strategic decisions.
- Engage in continuous professional development through educational opportunities and industry networking.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies, including timely issuance of disclosures.
- Exhibit excellent member service and relationship management skills, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Demonstrate strong sales, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Possess exceptional organizational abilities to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel as necessary for client meetings and networking events.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in mortgage lending.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and lending practices.
- Proven sales skills and customer service techniques.
- NMLS certification required or must obtain within a specified timeframe.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Solid financial understanding.
