Job Overview

UW Health University Hospital is seeking a skilled Neurosurgery Care Specialist to join our team. As a Registered Nurse in our neuro specialty inpatient unit, you will work with medical and surgical neuro patients, providing post-surgical care and patient-centered care in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality care to patients with complex neurological conditions, including those undergoing surgery for stroke, epilepsy, and other conditions.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them.
Requirements
  • Two years of acute care experience within the last three years, preferably in a neurosurgery setting.
  • Basic Arrhythmia experience and proficiency in UW Health Telemetry testing.
  • Ability to float to multiple units or locations as needed.
Work Environment

The 25-bed neurosurgery general care unit at UW Health University Hospital provides a dynamic and challenging work environment. Our team-oriented approach ensures that patients receive comprehensive care, from initial diagnosis through treatment and recovery.

Compensation Package

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000-$120,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and professional development opportunities. Travelers are required to have a permanent address outside the 50-mile radius of Madison.
