About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Event Operations Manager to join our team at Marriott International Inc. As an Assistant Manager ICE Attractions, you will play a key role in planning and executing meetings and special events, as well as implementing departmental strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meetings and Special Events
    • Assist in planning and execution of meetings and special events to ensure seamless delivery and exceed guest expectations.
    • Research and analyze new products, pricing, and services of competition to stay ahead in the market.
  • Operations and Budgets
    • Lead the team to meet and exceed daily/weekly goals, including sales, attendance, guest satisfaction, and safety.
    • Assist in apprising property of all groups that will impact property operations.
  • Event Management Strategy
    • Assist in execution of event management strategy aligned with the company's business strategy.
    • Conduct daily walk-through of banquet floor to promote client satisfaction and quality standards.
  • Profitability
    • Assist in developing working relationships with outside vendors and establishing prices and service agreements.
    • Create opportunities to upsell during event planning.
  • Customer Service
    • Create an atmosphere in all event management operations areas that meets or exceeds guest expectations.
    • Set a positive example for guest relations.
  • Human Resources
    • Interview, select, and train employees.
    • Appraise employee's productivity and efficiency for promotions or other changes in status.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in hospitality, event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area.
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in hospitality, or related major; 1 year experience in hospitality, event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or a comparable professional area.
