Job Summary

Minimum Qualifications
Degrees:

An Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited program is required. A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.


Licenses & Certifications:

  • A Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care is mandatory.
  • A Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association is required.
  • An Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.
  • A Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification from the American Association of Pediatrics is mandatory for working in a neonatal ICU.
  • A Respiratory Care Practitioner certification from the Texas Medical Board is required.

Work Experience:
At least five (5) years of experience in a Respiratory Care Department as a practicing therapist is required.

Language Skills:
Bilingual skills are preferred.

Communication Skills:
Above average verbal communication skills, with heavy public contact, are required. Writing and reporting skills are also essential.

Job Attributes
Work Schedule:
Weekdays: 12-hour shifts. Weekends: 12-hour shifts. Holidays: Rotating shifts.
