Transition Finance Strategies LLC is a leading professional services firm specializing in third-party administration of retirement plans, including Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOP) and 401(k) Plans. With a nationwide client base, we are at the forefront of the ESOP recordkeeping and administration sector and are rapidly expanding our 401(k) and defined benefit plan services.

We are currently seeking a 401(k) Plan Onboarding Specialist to enhance our New Business Team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the transition and establishment of both new and existing plans. A minimum of 5 years of experience in implementation, particularly in plan design and client consultation, is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proposal Assistance: Input prospects into our system and generate necessary fee quotations for stakeholders.
  • Plan Design Consultation: Work collaboratively with Plan Sponsors and their advisors to tailor plans that effectively meet their requirements. Review existing plans, suggest modifications, and ensure all protected benefits are addressed.
  • Plan Design Illustrations: Develop Plan Design Illustrations that include profit sharing, matching, and/or safe harbor features to facilitate plan design discussions.
  • Plan Document Preparation: Assemble a comprehensive plan document package utilizing an industry-standard document system.
  • Project Coordination: Ensure seamless transitions for incoming plans by liaising with Plan Sponsors and previous providers to gather necessary documentation, complete required paperwork, and participate in ongoing status meetings.
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience with defined contribution plans, including plan design consultation, drafting plan documents, and conducting non-discrimination testing.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex regulations and concepts for Plan Sponsors.
  • Subject matter expert with a comprehensive understanding of ERISA, DOL, and IRS regulations.
  • Familiarity with one or more plan document drafting systems (e.g., FT Williams, ASC, Relius).
  • Possession of a Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) credential from ASPPA is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.
