Position Summary:
We are looking for a qualified RN ready to advance into a leadership role as a Nursing Leadership Coordinator (CNC) in the Medical Care Unit. In this capacity, you will guide and mentor your team to achieve optimal outcomes for adult patients who are critically ill or recovering from various medical and post-surgical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure high-quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions within the Medical Care Unit during your shift.
- Collaborate with management to direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care in line with established policies and procedures.
- Serve as a resource for staff, embodying the organization's vision and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes.
Essential Duties:
- Facilitate admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
- Participate in ongoing assessments of patient care quality in collaboration with management.
- Work with experts and managers to foster a teamwork-oriented environment that enhances outcomes and service.
- Uphold a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery as needed.
- Support initiatives to enhance staff engagement and operationalize nursing strategies.
- Provide input on hiring, training, and staff development, as well as performance evaluations and compliance with personnel policies.
- Assist with staff scheduling and manage labor resources according to patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
- Help maintain inventory control and manage supplies and equipment effectively.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
- Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or a Current Multistate Compact License.
- A minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting is preferred.
- At least 1 year of medical-surgical experience in an acute care environment.
- Preferred 1 year of leadership experience in a hospital setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
