About the Role
We are in search of an Orthopedic Clinical Nurse Coordinator to lead our team in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinating all functions within the unit during the designated shift.
In collaboration with the management team, the Clinical Nurse Coordinator directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures, serving as a resource for staff while embodying the organization's vision and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily clinical management of the orthopedic unit, ensuring patient satisfaction among patients, visitors, physicians, and staff.
- Provide therapeutic, patient-centered post-operative nursing care for various surgical procedures, acting as a role model for staff.
- Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
- Participate in the ongoing assessment of patient care services in collaboration with the management team.
- Foster a collaborative environment that supports improved outcomes and service.
- Engage in service recovery when necessary, upholding a patient-first philosophy.
- Contribute to staff training and development, including interviewing and selection processes.
- Manage staff scheduling and labor in accordance with patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
- Assist with inventory control and management of supplies and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
- Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Multistate Compact License.
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
- At least 1 year of medical-surgical experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
- 1 year of leadership experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.
