Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and implement treatment plans.
  • Perform vital signs, height, weight, and screening procedures, documenting findings in the medical record.
  • Collect and assist providers in collecting specimens, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Perform daily controls and calibration of laboratory equipment, reporting inaccuracies to the supervisor.
  • Assist with special procedures and examinations, following infection control and universal protocol guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized examination room, stocking supplies and ensuring par levels are maintained.
  • Participate in pre-visit chart preparation, ensuring required lab results and documentation are available for practitioner review.
  • Perform various clerical functions, including filing, processing insurance forms, and preparing financial records.
Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of a Medical Assisting program at an accredited school or 1-3 years of medical assistant experience is preferred.
