The Cytotechnologist is a vital member of our diagnostic laboratory team, responsible for analyzing and processing specimens to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions. This role requires a strong foundation in cytotechnology and laboratory procedures, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and process specimens for testing, ensuring proper identification and labeling.
- Determine current clinician orders and process specimens accordingly.
- Maintain adequate stock of supplies and rotate stock as needed.
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining laboratory equipment and workspace.
- Communicate daily status and problems to team members and senior management.
Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited cytotechnology program.
- Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as a Cytologist (CT).
