Licensure/Certification:

Must possess an active Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) license, Temporary Work Permit (TWP), Provisional License, or an active compact state RN license in good standing. Additionally, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification for Healthcare Providers is required, valid for at least 6 months post-employment.

Physical Demands:

This role requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull weights regularly, with frequent lifting of 25-50 pounds. Candidates must be able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods. The work environment may expose individuals to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and potential injuries from patients or sharp instruments.

Work Schedule:

Availability to work two 12-hour shifts every Saturday and Sunday from 3 PM to 3:30 AM is essential. This position qualifies for a weekend premium plan.

Job Overview:

As a Registered Nurse in Emergency Services, you will provide care for adult patients aged 18 and older. The Emergency Department encompasses five distinct areas for patient care: triage for prioritizing care needs, chair-centric and express care for low-acuity patients, an acute care area for common emergency complaints, critical care for trauma and intensive care patients, and a Level I Trauma Center for complex injuries.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care through assessment, documentation, planning, implementation, teaching, and evaluation of nursing care plans.
  • Providing direct patient care and ensuring high levels of patient satisfaction.
  • Training and delegating tasks to Nursing Care Technicians.
  • Adhering to institutional policies and relevant regulations.

This role fosters collaboration among nursing staff and physicians to enhance communication and improve patient outcomes, utilizing a comprehensive nursing process.

This position does not include supervisory duties.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with at least one year of RN experience is preferred.
