Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Brigham and Women's Hospital. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and administering respiratory care procedures to critically ill patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient condition and develop treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Administer respiratory care modalities, including mechanical ventilation and airway care, to patients with respiratory disorders.
  • Conduct pulmonary function tests and other diagnostic procedures to evaluate patient condition.
  • Develop and implement patient education programs to promote respiratory health and wellness.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
Requirements
  • A.S. in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent.
  • One year of clinical training or equivalent experience.
  • Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Registration (RRT) by the N.B.R.C. within six months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • B.S. in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent.
  • Two years of previous critical care experience.
  • ECMO experience strongly preferred.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in patient care environments, including intensive care, recovery room, and emergency room. May be exposed to prolonged periods of high temperatures in burn patient rooms. May be required to stand immobile for long periods of time in emergency situations.

Frequent exposure to communicable diseases and secretions/excretions.
