Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

At Tufts Medical Center, we are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing respiratory care to patients of all ages, including those with cardio-pulmonary dysfunction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Initiate patients on invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation
  • Abide by infection control guidelines for invasive and non-invasive equipment
  • Change and adjust ventilator parameters based on clinical assessment and blood gas analysis
  • Wean patients from mechanical ventilation and other therapies
  • Administer inhaled medications in accordance with institutional guidelines
  • Provide services to analyze blood specimens for blood gases, glucose, and electrolytes
  • Provide in-house transport of mechanically ventilated and other high-risk patients
  • Provide non-traditional therapies, such as CPAP or BiPAP
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a health profession, science, or equivalent
  • Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy is required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology of the cardiopulmonary system, and respiratory therapy science
  • One to two years of experience in acute and critical care
  • Current licensure and good standing with the Licensure Board of Registration of Massachusetts
  • Registration from the National Board of Respiratory Care
