Precision Slitting Technician

Join our team as a Precision Slitting Technician with competitive hourly compensation. At Steel Technologies LLC, your primary role will involve the setup and operation of slitting machinery in accordance with client specifications and production orders. Your expertise will be essential for conducting regular equipment assessments and ensuring accurate measurements, alignment of components, and the production of materials that meet stringent quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform and verify arbor and overarm setups to align with production directives
• Ensure coil identity matches production requirements and load coils appropriately
• Thread coils through the slitter head, eliminating any non-compliant materials
• Feed mults into the recoiler
• Uphold production and quality benchmarks by measuring and validating during and after processing
  • Record measurements for gauge width, hardness, camber, burr, and surface condition
  • Configure gauge monitoring systems (if applicable) and maintain gauge calibration
  • Adjust machine settings to rectify defects as necessary throughout the slitting process
  • Report any production non-compliance to the supervisor or shift lead
• Secure and label slit mults
• Complete necessary production documentation
• Assist maintenance teams in troubleshooting equipment issues or performing preventative maintenance as required
• Clear scrap from machinery and empty hoppers as needed
• Maintain cleanliness of the slitting machine and surrounding work area
