Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Reinsurance Analyst to play a crucial role in the placement of key reinsurance protections for Crum & Forster. The successful candidate will work on reinsurance transactions with over 100 reinsurance markets, including traditional reinsurers and investment funds in the US, UK, Bermuda, continental Europe, and Asia. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and strategic foresight to drive efficiency and effectiveness in Crum & Forster's reinsurance activities.
Key Responsibilities- Treaty Submissions
- Assist in preparing and presenting reinsurance submissions.
- Collaborate in the design phase of reinsurance treaties, analyzing and suggesting terms and clauses that would be beneficial for the company.
- Data-driven decision-making is at the heart of this role, requiring comprehensive analysis of portfolio risks, reinsurance market trends, and treaty performance.
- Engage and educate stakeholders on reinsurance matters to ensure understanding and alignment.
- Collaborate with Crum & Forster pricing and reserving actuaries to assess portfolio risk, optimize reinsurance structure and economics, and monitor performance.
- Collaborate with underwriting management to facilitate reinsurance audits and ensure reinsurance coverage aligns with underwriting objectives.
- Collaborate with claims to facilitate reinsurance audits, understand claim trends, and help ensure reinsurance loss reporting obligations are met.
- Stay abreast of trends, developments, and changes in the reinsurance market.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on market intelligence.
- Contribute to ensuring that the final treaty documentation accurately reflects the agreed-upon terms and conditions.
- Contribute to ensuring clarity and adherence to all regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of related experience required.
- Prior experience in ceded reinsurance roles or similar is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities.
- High proficiency in Excel.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
