Job Summary

We are seeking a Hazardous Materials Technician to join our safety-conscious team in Santa Fe, NM. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for collecting, segregating, packing, and preparing hazardous waste for shipment in accordance with our company policies and procedures.

This is a physically demanding position that requires the ability to lift 50 pounds. You must have a high school diploma or equivalent and valid driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record.

The ideal candidate will have hazardous waste experience and possess excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes
  • Prepares computer-generated packing lists, labels, manifests, and land disposal restrictions notifications
  • Performs inspections of staging, accumulating and storage areas to ensure proper housekeeping procedures and compliance
  • Inspects storage area for leaks or spills
  • Inspects drums for compliance with labeling regulations
  • Collects, segregates, and properly packages waste chemicals for disposal to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance
  • Samples and profiles new waste streams or any wastes needing analytical testing
  • Prepare all necessary tracking paperwork
