Job Summary

This position is a key leadership role within the Veterans Health Administration, responsible for overseeing the Substance Use Program and providing high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will have a strong background in psychiatry and experience in program management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight to the Substance Use Program, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to VA policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve program efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to patients with substance use disorders.
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of staff, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent patient care.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in substance use treatment, incorporating evidence-based approaches into program development and implementation.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Board certification in psychiatry or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in psychiatry, with a focus on substance use treatment.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in program development and implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
