About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate CV Recovery Nurse to join our team at Alaska Regional Hospital. As a CV Recovery Nurse, you will provide pre and post nursing care to patients undergoing procedures within the Cath Lab. You will demonstrate clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to providing quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for all testing and therapeutics that take place as part of the prepping and recovery of patients undergoing procedures in the Cath Lab. These procedures include but are not limited to: cardiac catheterizations and/or coronary interventions, EP device and ablation therapies, interventional radiology, neuro diagnostic/interventions, endovascular procedures, and structural Heart (LAAC, TAVR) procedures.
  • You will facilitate effective communication among departmental staff to ensure interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to patient care. Uses appropriate SBAR process for hand-off communication.
  • You will assist the patient through all aspects of the pre and post procedure, including transport, site preparation, sterile procedure(s), patient monitoring, hemostasis management following removal of catheter or sheath, return to inpatient room, or same day discharge. Manages emergent situations.
  • You will maintain accurate, timely and compliant patient records. Completes all paperwork associated with these procedures and prepares tests for physician interpretation.
  • You will demonstrate an ability to be flexible, organized and function well under stressful situations
  • You will collaborate with fellow members of the team and orient and needed.

Requirements

  • Current nursing license in good standing
  • Associate's Degree in nursing required, bachelor's preferred
  • PACU/CV Recovery experience required, ICU experience preferred.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS)
