About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team at Southcoast Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and technical expertise in mammography and radiography.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diversified clinical patient care, technical, and related duties within mammography and radiography.
  • Assume responsibility for each assigned patient, perform patient assessments, and correlate clinical findings with exam/procedure request.
  • Obtain pertinent information from patients' charts and document all data within the EHR.
  • Educate patients for exams, position patients, and select appropriate imaging equipment and supplies.
  • Identify, prepare, and/or administer pharmaceuticals related to the exam/procedure.
  • Select technical factors/parameters/sequences to produce quality images.
  • Properly identify anatomy and evaluate images for technical quality.
  • Apply the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others and be aware of MR safety practices.
  • Assist physicians in performing procedures.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Attainment of primary certification within one year of eligibility and post-primary certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Mammography RT(M).
  • Post-primary certification in the advanced practice discipline of Mammography is required for RTs within one year of eligibility and/or per RT licensure in MA or RI.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • RT Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and/or Rhode Island.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID-19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
