The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the Maintenance Manager in parts sourcing and purchasing, working closely with the Mill Maintenance Manager to plan and execute projects, and ensuring the daily workload is safely and effectively carried out.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Maintenance Manager in parts sourcing and purchasing.
  • Work closely with the Mill Maintenance Manager to plan and execute projects.
  • Ensure the daily workload is safely and effectively carried out.
  • Issue work orders for repairs needed on the rolling mill.
  • Work with the maintenance team to ensure all projects are completed to specification.
  • Assist in the training of new mill maintenance employees.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or higher education certificate.
  • 5+ years of maintenance/millwright experience with heavy industrial background.
  • Experience with CMMS.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Ability to use measuring equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to multi-task and work with a high degree of accuracy.

Working Conditions:

  • This is a safety-sensitive position.
  • Office/shop/mill environment with varying temperatures.
  • PPE required when entering the rolling mill.

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand or sit for long periods of time.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Attendance at work.
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Use precision measuring tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety and work procedures.
  • Ability to follow work procedures and instructions.
  • Ability to collaborate well with other team members.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Ability to effectively lead a team and communicate objectives.
