Human Resources Generalist

Fincantieri Marinette Marine, a Fincantieri Marine Group Company, is a progressive shipyard specializing in building ships for the United States Navy. We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team at our Marinette, Wisconsin location.
Job SummaryThe Human Resources Generalist will provide HR support to the Director and/or Manager of Human Resources in the assigned division(s). This includes assisting in the recruiting effort to ensure Marinette Marine accesses, attracts, and successfully places highly competent and successful candidates. The HR Generalist will lead assigned projects with management oversight and deliver HR functional support to their assigned division(s) as an employee advocate, functional expert, and business driver.
Key Responsibilities- Manage recruiting for assigned hourly, non-exempt, and temporary positions, including posting jobs, reviewing resumes, interviewing candidates, and creating final approved offers.
- Prepare reports, presentations, business communications, data summaries, and other documents of both a recurring and non-recurring nature.
- Take a lead role in employee relations, including gathering data, conducting investigations, reporting findings, etc.
- Develop and institute HR best practices of the department's policy, procedures, and processes.
- Support inquiries related to benefits, retirement, compensation, etc.
- Lead routine HR projects, including communications, conducting meetings, tracking results, reporting, and KPI reporting.
- Policy Management: administer/interpret company policies and assist the HR Manager in employment issues, labor law, and employment law compliance related investigations and hearings.
- Employee Training & Development: conduct new employee orientation sessions and other HR-related management development training sessions.
- Oversee contract labor program, including quota management, labor levels, and rates, and interaction with vendors.
- Systems: utilize the various ADP and SAP modules and analyze HR metrics, identifying key trends and recommending improvements.
- Investigate, write reports, and bring to conclusion employee complaints and associated issues.
- Assist departmental leadership with disciplinary actions, when required.
- Routinely audit Company employee files and employment law postings for accuracy and adherence to established guidelines and applicable federal and state laws.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field required with 2+ years' experience in an HR Generalist or HR Specialist role.
- Proficient in MS Office suites and with an applicant tracking system.
- Must possess exceptional drive and motivation to achieve and surpass hiring goals.
- Must have knowledge of Human Resources policies and procedures, talent acquisition and staffing practices, affirmative action plans, and practical application of employment law.
