About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Combination Inspector to join our team of professionals at SAFEbuilt. This is a part-time opportunity that offers great potential for dynamic and motivated individuals to work on a variety of assignments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform field inspections during various stages of construction to ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
  • Read and examine plans and specifications to identify potential issues and ensure code compliance.
  • Report violations and maintain accurate records of inspections and findings.
  • Perform other related duties as required to support the team and contribute to the success of SAFEbuilt.
Requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of local building codes and current construction procedures/technology.
  • Ability to interpret codes in the field and provide code-compliant solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with staff, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Good time management, organization, and attention to detail skills to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Dual certification by the Ohio Board of Building Standards as a building, plumbing, and/or electrical safety inspector.
  • Additional OH Certifications or ICC Inspector Certifications are a plus.
  • Experience in municipal code inspections is preferred.
