Key Responsibilities

As a Public Area Attendant, your role will encompass the following:

  • Receive and manage assignments, priority requests, keys, and supplies from the housekeeping management team.
  • Prepare and stock cleaning carts to ensure all necessary supplies are readily available.
  • Conduct walkthroughs of assigned areas at the start and end of each shift, ensuring cleanliness and order.
  • Remove any litter, service trays, and soiled linens, while promptly addressing areas that require immediate attention.
  • Maintain cleanliness in public spaces according to established policies, procedures, and brand standards, including hallways, elevators, and stairwells.
  • Perform quality checks on public area amenities such as televisions, telephones, and lighting fixtures.
  • Efficiently manage the disposal of soiled linens and trash, ensuring proper placement in designated areas.
  • Address and resolve housekeeping requests and guest complaints in a timely manner.
  • Report any emergencies, injuries, or maintenance issues to management promptly to facilitate corrective actions.
  • Ensure that all lost items found in public areas are reported to housekeeping management for entry into the Lost and Found system.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

A high school diploma or equivalent experience is preferred. Familiarity with hospitality industry standards is advantageous.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to deliver friendly and effective guest service.
  • Understanding of proper cleaning techniques and compliance with brand standards.
  • Proficiency in using cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Capability to complete assigned tasks efficiently while identifying and resolving issues.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Professional demeanor with effective communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining flexibility.
