The Shared Service Center's Physician Services Team is responsible for communicating its revenue cycle activities and performance to individual practice departments within Boston Children's Hospital Physician's Org.
Our team focuses on partnering with each department to understand their goals, challenges, and key practice drivers. Activities include establishing and maintaining Foundation relationships that focus on KPI's, managing effective ongoing communication regarding RCM workflow issues, and identifying areas for financial performance improvement.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage, monitor, and provide guidance to Revenue Integrity staff and functional areas as it relates to charge capture, revenue preservation, and the minimization of revenue leakage.
- Ensure prompt, accurate and compliant billing practices are achieved for international and domestic payers, as well as self-pay patients through internal audits and training.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Charge Capture process, which includes processes spanning site of service charge capture through payment analysis.
- Responsible for the development of dept specific standards and tools for monitoring processes.
- Implement strategies to improve charge capture, increasing digital opportunities and system inter-operability, and using systems as appropriate; work with clinical teams to select best charge capture tools.
- Facilitate monthly meetings with management teams of assigned service lines with the goals of improving communication between service lines & Revenue Integrity.
- Implements defect/denial management strategy provides project management/leadership and facilitates all Revenue.
- Collaborate with the Contracting and Pricing Team to ensure the integrity of the Charge Capture process and fee schedule formulation(s); Work with the Pricing and Analytics team to support annual updates to charge capture systems for both Procedure and Dx Codes.
- Manage Bill Hold and Denials Management root cause analysis, reporting, and process improvement. Keep abreast of account holds or first-time rejections and write-off buckets. Minimize rejections and write-offs.
- A Bachelor's degree in HealthCare or Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or closely related field is required or equivalent work experience.
- 5 years of related experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations and/or clinical coding is required.
- A strong aptitude for creating and analyzing reports using a diversity of analytics platforms, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A detailed understanding of professional billing and the healthcare revenue cycle as a whole.
