About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Conflicts Clearance Specialist to join our team at Skadden Arps Slate Meagher and Flom LLP. As a key member of our New Business Conflicts Clearance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of our conflicts resolution process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough conflicts checks to identify potential conflicts of interest issues
  • Maintain accurate records in our conflicts database
  • Collaborate with other team members, Conflicts Attorneys, and Office of the General Counsel to resolve potential ethical conflicts
  • Communicate effectively with attorneys and staff to gather necessary information for conflicts checks
  • Validate requirements for each conflict check with requesting lawyers or secretaries
  • Conduct corporate research using internal and external resources to verify accuracy of information
  • Coordinate with Client Accounting Department and other relevant departments to ensure database information integrity
  • Provide coverage for department functions, including after-hours and weekend support as needed
Requirements
  • Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g. Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with conflicts database software, preferably iManage
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team
  • Flexibility to adjust hours and work necessary to meet operating and business needs
