Job Summary

The Lead Security Engineer for Infrastructure is responsible for maintaining the stability, integrity, and efficient functioning of information systems and technologies across the global organization. This position acts as a vital technical resource, focusing on the design, engineering, and implementation of system hardening and automation for image creation within both Windows and Linux environments in cloud and virtualized settings. The role also encompasses support for vulnerability management, compliance activities, and remediation efforts in cloud environments. Collaboration with systems, application, and enterprise architects is essential to develop requirements, test cases, and to implement, monitor, report, and optimize applications and infrastructure for the organization’s platforms.

Candidate Profile

Education and Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or computer science field or equivalent experience/certification.
  • Over 7 years of progressive experience in Information Technology.
  • Demonstrated success in engineering enterprise solutions for a large global organization.
  • At least 5 years of experience in application development or systems engineering.
  • Proficiency in Linux and Windows environments for over 5 years.
  • Extensive experience with cloud technologies, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS in public cloud settings for 5+ years.
  • Strong background in OS scripting and automation for 5+ years.
  • Experience with the design and implementation of CIS/NIST hardening standards at an enterprise level for 3+ years.
  • Proven experience in patch management solutions for 3+ years.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) modeling and infrastructure as code development for 3+ years.
  • Experience implementing AWS Well-Architected security frameworks for 3+ years.
  • Professional experience with cloud computing technologies and virtualization for 3+ years.
  • Experience with server patch management systems for 3+ years.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Ansible, PowerShell, and Bash for 3+ years.
  • Experience in container operations and orchestration for 2+ years.
  • Knowledge of security control frameworks such as NIST 800-53 and CIS.
  • Familiarity with vulnerability management and related tools.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience as a DevOps Engineer, developing pipelines and managing Kubernetes.
  • Background in designing and supporting mission-critical solutions.
  • Strong understanding of network technologies.
  • Proven ability to deliver technology solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong communication skills for diverse audiences.
