Position Overview

Community Hospital Corporation is in search of a seasoned and visionary Executive Director to lead and oversee all operational facets of the healthcare facility. This role demands a leader who can align with the organization's mission, vision, and values while ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations.

The Executive Director will be responsible for delivering safe, high-quality patient care, managing a robust annual budget, and fostering a productive workforce. The ideal candidate will also focus on risk management, performance enhancement, and nurturing relationships with stakeholders, including the Board, medical staff, patients, and the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Articulate and promote a clear and inspiring vision for the organization, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned with the hospital's mission and priorities.
  • Collaborate with the Board, senior management, and medical staff to devise and implement strategies that foster growth and address both internal and external challenges.
  • Oversee the operational, strategic, financial, and clinical performance of the hospital.
  • Establish a robust control system to monitor performance against established goals and budgets, ensuring timely corrective actions are taken.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and legal standards.
  • Build strong relationships with peer hospitals and community physicians to enhance engagement and collaboration.

  • Foster an environment of trust and open communication among staff and stakeholders.
  • Serve as a mentor and role model, demonstrating integrity and compassion.

  • Attract and retain high-quality medical professionals while maintaining their satisfaction.
  • Work closely with medical staff to ensure quality care and address any conflicts.
  • Implement educational programs for the Board to enhance governance and oversight.
  • Adopt a proactive stance on healthcare reform and related challenges.
  • Encourage innovative ideas and build consensus within the senior leadership team.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to enhance the hospital's service offerings.
  • Engage actively in community initiatives and represent the hospital in various organizations.
  • Participate in strategic meetings that influence hospital operations.
  • Support and uphold the hospital's mission, vision, and values.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Guide the team towards achieving goals related to quality care and overall satisfaction.
  • Supervise subordinate leaders and ensure effective management of staff.
  • Clearly define performance expectations and provide regular feedback.
  • Evaluate team performance and facilitate professional development.

Qualifications

A Master's Degree in a healthcare-related field or a Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare-related field combined with a business-related Master's Degree, or equivalent experience.

Experience and Skills

  • 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare administration at a senior level.
  • Prior experience as a CEO or COO is preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a semi-rural healthcare setting with a proven track record in operational and financial management.
  • Established ability to cultivate positive relationships with physicians, staff, Board members, and community leaders.
  • Experience in leading teams to deliver safe and quality patient care.
