The Meat & Seafood Assistant Manager plays a crucial role in guiding and mentoring team members within the department. Collaborating closely with the Meat & Seafood Team Leader, this position focuses on achieving financial success and maintaining high standards within the department. The Assistant Manager ensures adherence to established procedures, promotes excellent customer service, and maintains a clean and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Team Development: Effectively communicates the company’s vision, operational procedures, and sales objectives to team members, emphasizing customer service and safety. Aids in the recruitment, training, and ongoing support of staff, aiming to cultivate future leaders within the department. Maintains a positive workplace atmosphere and assists in daily departmental operations.
  2. Production Oversight: Supervises and engages in the preparation of fresh meat and seafood, possessing knowledge of various types and cuts. Ensures quality presentation and display of products while upholding stringent quality control standards.
  3. Operational Support: Assists the Team Leader with inventory management, scheduling, and monitoring sales reports. Engages in regular inventory assessments and manages incoming deliveries.
  4. Merchandising: Creates and sustains appealing displays of fresh meat and seafood in accordance with company merchandising standards.
  5. Department Maintenance: Ensures cleanliness and organization of the department, including all storage areas and equipment.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  1. Excellent communication skills with the ability to train and motivate team members positively.
  2. Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  3. In-depth knowledge of meat and seafood products.
  4. Familiarity with food safety standards and proper equipment usage.
  5. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
