Job Title: Simulation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Simulation Engineer to join our team at The University of Texas at Austin. As a Simulation Engineer, you will be responsible for providing multi-phase flow simulation in support of modeling Hydrogen production from oil fields, modeling the role of in-situ combustion created heat on multiphase fluid flow and reaction.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform research and analysis to develop and implement simulation models for Hydrogen production and multiphase fluid flow.
  • Develop and maintain complex simulation models using Eclipse, CMG, or Tough software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate simulation results into decision-making processes.
  • Communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in simulation technology.
Requirements:
  • PhD in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent field.
  • Expertise in multi-phase flow simulation and thermal modeling of subsurface reservoirs.
  • Strong programming skills in Python or C.
  • Experience with high-performance computing and data analytics.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of hydrogen thermodynamics and kinetics of chemical reactions within fluids.
  • Experience with machine learning and data analytics.
  • Background in nano-technology and its applications in energy systems.
