Job Title: Behavior Technician

We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Fee-for-Service Behavior Technician to provide community-based ABA support to a 23-year-old male with high-functioning autism in Shrewsbury, MA.

Job Summary:

The Edinburg Center is a dedicated team of professionals committed to serving individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities, brain injury, and autism in the community. We are seeking a skilled Behavior Technician to join our team and provide high-quality support to our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement, model, and monitor progress of individualized behavior support and skill plans based on data analysis under the supervision of a BCBA, focusing on social skills, communication, and behavioral support.
  • Work collaboratively and independently with team members, especially parents, to ensure seamless support.
  • Assist in training parents and caregivers who implement plans with children and families on principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, utilizing excellent oral and written communication skills.
Requirements:
  • Candidates must meet one of three requirements: (1) BA in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Special Education, or a human service-related field; (2) Associate's degree and a minimum of two years of relevant direct experience with families and youth with serious emotional and behavioral challenges and autism; (3) At least one year of experience utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis in a therapeutic setting.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation, and be able to meet our safe driving requirements.
  • Experience in implementing principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to children with autism is required.
  • Experience in implementing positive behavior support plans and teaching new skills, including direct instruction, discrete trial training, incidental teaching, task analysis, and other ABA methods is preferred.
  • Experience working with youth 21 years and under with serious emotional and behavioral challenges or Autism is preferred.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to work as a team player.
