Job Title: Middle School Intervention Specialist

At KIPP Columbus, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Middle School Intervention Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Intervention Team, you will play a critical role in providing crucial support and services to students with disabilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Craft and implement high-quality, challenging, and engaging lesson plans using provided curriculum resources to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
  • Provide an educational program for students with disabilities as defined in the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
  • Participate in the Response to Intervention (RTI) process to provide intervention services to all students.
  • Regularly assess student work and track student achievement data to improve student academic performance.
  • Work cooperatively with lead classroom teachers and other staff to assist in classroom intervention strategies and modify general education curricula as necessary.
  • Collaborate regularly with parents and teachers regarding the educational, social, and personal needs of students.
  • Work closely with the Senior Director of Student Services and Director of Special Education to serve as case manager and maintain relative special education student files.
  • Build authentic relationships with families to partner in ensuring the academic success of each student.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree Required.
  • Current Ohio Intervention Specialist License or willingness and ability to pursue certification by start date Required.
  • Belief that outstanding school leaders, staff, and teachers can achieve excellent outcomes for all students.
  • Ability to persevere with a sense of optimism, strong problem-solving skills, and desire to learn and grow in a collaborative professional learning community.
  • Willingness and commitment to go above and beyond to prove the possible with students.
  • Ability to multi-task and work within an ambiguous, fast-moving, start-up environment, while driving toward clarity and solutions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Extreme flexibility, with a strong work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit to accommodate high levels of responsibility and multiple priorities.
