We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our prospect management and research efforts as the Executive Director, Donor Engagement. This key role will drive strategic research, identification, analysis, and solicitation of prospective donors to support the College of William & Mary's fundraising goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive prospect management and research strategy that aligns with the university's fundraising objectives.
  • Lead a team of professionals in prospect identification, research, and analysis, and provide guidance on solicitation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, alumni, and university leadership.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in prospect management and research.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated mastery of standard research methodology best practices for evaluating donor prospects.
  • Knowledge of leading CRM tools and technologies used in fundraising operations.
  • Extensive experience managing the complete prospect life cycle, prospect identification and research methods, and prospect management principles.
  • Proven analytical skills and proficiency utilizing data analysis tools, fundraising databases, and interpreting and evaluating hard and soft wealth indicators.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree (master's degree or higher) in a relevant field.
  • Knowledge of specific measures for demonstrating ROI in a prospect development setting.
  • Experience creating prospect capacity rating methodology customized to an organization's needs.
