Job Title: Assistant General Manager

At Sonesta International Hotels, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team. As a key member of our hotel management team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional results that contribute to the overall success of the hotel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the General Manager to drive revenue, control costs, and provide exceptional guest and associate satisfaction.
  • Manage the front office, housekeeping, and food and beverage operations of the hotel.
  • Develop and implement processes to ensure the hotel is properly supplied with guest amenities and maintained to high standards.
  • Partner with the sales team to create and execute the hotel's sales and marketing plan to secure fair market share of business.
  • Manage seasonal demand strategy and work with the property management system to maximize revenue.
  • Establish and implement service recovery guidelines to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
  • Manage the hotel's appearance, condition, and preventive maintenance.
  • Attend evening social and breakfast events to prospect for additional sales leads.
  • Assist the General Manager with budget development, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding health, safety, and alcohol services.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Hotel Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Three years of experience as a Front Office Manager, Operations Manager, Assistant General Manager, or Director of Sales in extended stay hotels.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances.
  • Problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational, and training abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred.
  • Ability to travel, including some overnight travel, is required.
