Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Concrete General Superintendent to join our dynamic construction team at Landmark Construction Company, Inc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all on-site concrete construction activities and manage construction teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to establish concrete project specifications, scope, and schedules.
  • Develop and implement concrete work plans, including formwork, pouring, finishing, and curing, to meet project requirements.
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of foremen, concrete finishers, laborers, and subcontractors to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings to monitor construction activities and address any issues or deviations from plans promptly.
  • Ensure all concrete construction activities comply with company policies, building codes, and health and safety standards.
  • Manage the procurement of concrete materials, equipment, and tools required for projects, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate records of construction progress, resources used, changes in scope, and other relevant project data.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems related to concrete construction, offering practical solutions to maintain project momentum.
  • Train and mentor junior staff in concrete construction techniques, safety protocols, and best practices.
  • Foster a culture of safety on the job site by implementing and enforcing rigorous safety procedures and conducting regular safety training sessions.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Concrete General Superintendent or similar managerial role in construction
  • 8 to 10 years of proven construction management experience
  • In-depth knowledge of concrete construction procedures, materials, and project management principles
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
  • Strong understanding of construction management processes, means, and methods
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of construction workers and subcontractors
  • Proficient in MS Office and construction management software
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and plan sets
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adept at negotiating with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Detailed knowledge of building codes, regulations, and inspection compliance
  • Physical stamina and the ability to work in a variety of weather conditions
  • Experience with concrete formwork systems and finishing techniques
  • Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required to meet project deadlines
  • Ability to problem-solve and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
