Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HVAC Assistant Superintendent to join our team at Rogers Mechanical Contractors. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for supporting the Superintendent in all phases of HVAC projects, ensuring the highest level of quality and construction practices are performed in a safe and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Superintendent in executing all scheduled installation activities with labor subcontractors.
  • Respond to incoming phone calls and emails in a timely manner, ensuring effective internal and external communications.
  • Maintain clean work areas daily, coordinating with subs and the Superintendent.
  • Assist the Superintendent in organizing job site logistics, including deliveries, storage of materials, and material take-off.
  • Work with project information files, reviewing documents and familiarizing yourself with project scope, schedule, specifications, drawings, and equipment lay-out.
  • Assist the Superintendent in maintaining on-site documentation, including safety documentation, daily reports, as-built drawings, inspections, and commissioning forms.
  • Communicate job progress through written daily reports and verbal meetings with the Superintendent.
  • Travel between multiple projects as needed, depending on job site conditions and schedule.
  • Assist the Superintendent in tracking performance of all HVAC subcontractors on site.
  • Follow company QC/QA/safety procedures and assist the Superintendent in implementing, executing, and tracking all job-site specific activities related to QC/QA/Safety.
  • Review and follow engineered drawings and specifications to ensure compliance of installation work.
  • Request information from the Superintendent or general contractor in a timely manner to assist in recognizing any possible grey areas in scope and avoiding risk exposure.
  • Coordinate with controls and startup to ensure optimal project efficiency.
  • Maintain safety documentation and inspections per the Superintendent's request.
  • Attend all job-site inspections and job meetings.
  • Be the first one to arrive and last one to leave the job site, with being on time a requirement.

  • Effectiveness of internal and external communications.
  • Timeliness in execution of all assigned tasks.
  • Ability to assist the Superintendent in daily operations.

  • Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to general contractors, labor subcontractors, and the internal team.
  • Proficient in using the Internet to research information.
  • Proficient with MS Suite, Bluebeam Revu, Vista, Toolbox Talks.
Minimum Requirements
  • Trade School preferred.
  • 1-3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
