Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our team at DPS Group LLC. As a key member of our engineering design group, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of complex instrumentation and controls systems for various industries, including life sciences, biotechnology, and advanced technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers and designers on large and complex projects, ensuring timely completion and high-quality deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) in conjunction with process and mechanical engineers.
  • Select, apply, and specify instrumentation required to support processes, ensuring compliance with industry-accepted practices and client preferences.
  • Develop Instrument Data Sheets and lists, panel layouts, and details, as well as arrange instrumentation and controls equipment on plan drawings and create single-line diagrams.
  • Collaborate with project management, vendors, clients, design members, and fellow engineers to solve complex process engineering and piping issues.
  • Support business development activities, including participating in client interviews and proposal development.
  • Perform self-QA/QC on deliverables, as well as on deliverables by other engineers, and complete engineering studies and reports.
  • Participate in services during construction activities, including reviewing RFIs, submittals, responding to design change notices, issuing field change bulletins, attending site walk-throughs, and issuing field observation reports.
  • Understand and work within the scope, schedule, deliverables, and man-hours budgeted for assigned tasks, and support corporate and discipline-specific procedures and policies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Controls, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, with a minimum of 5-10 years' experience in engineering, drafting, and design.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead small teams and work with multidisciplinary teams, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and International Building Codes (IBC) is desired, as well as the ability to create, read, and interpret engineering drawings related to electrical instrumentation and controls using applicable software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment, and a strong motivation to obtain professional licensure.
