Position Summary:
We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of Senior Process Engineer at our Paper Mill located in Valdosta, GA. This position is pivotal in overseeing quality assurance and product testing, while also supporting mill operations through effective laboratory management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement strategies to monitor and minimize operational expenses.
• Collaborate with external resources to enhance operational efficiency by leveraging relevant data.
• Conduct thorough data analysis to inform business decisions and improve processes.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards across all operations.
• Work closely with engineering teams on capital projects and process enhancements.
• Promote safety and environmental goals within the mill.
• Educate staff on safety protocols and quality assurance procedures.
• Maintain product specifications in line with industry standards and customer expectations.
• Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality benchmarks before product shipment.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
Basic:
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Pulp and Paper Science, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in technical or quality control roles.
• Successful completion of a drug screening and eligibility to work in the U.S.
Preferred:
• Experience in the pulp and paper sector is advantageous.
Skills and Competencies:
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Excellent planning, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in technical documentation and communication.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making ability in dynamic situations.
